Nanuku Auberge Resort Fiji

When you are welcomed ‘home’ on arrival at luxe Nanuku Auberge Resort in Viti Levu, Fiji, greeted with fresh coconuts and celebrity-style fanfare, you know you are in for an extravagant break… if only this was your actual digs!

With luxurious surrounds, coiffed gardens, private 3km pristine beach and lavish accommodations for no more than 60 guests, Nanuku is an obvious destination for tying the knot or post-nuptial honeymoon.

Your butterflies will be at ease if this tropical oasis is the chosen destination to propose to your better half with your own butler (fondly known as Villa Mama).  These wonderful individuals are like having your own PA, attend to cleaning your expansive accommodation, unpack luggage and arrange your itinerary of first class experiences.

If the weather puts a dampener during your stay, don’t worry about dancing for the sun gods. Retreat to your room and dine on delicious afternoon canapé’s, watch latest release movies in your own private cinema room… or allow your Villa Mama to run a flower petal bath and soak with Pure Fiji products.

The oversized six-star Fijian-style villa, suite or penthouse accommodations all feature their own private (or shared) pool, beach views and sounds of the waves crashing. Accommodation is literally on the beach!

Hopefully your wedding diet is well and truly over when you dine at this all-inclusive resort with no 1990’s style buffet in sight. The menu at The Kanavata Restaurant changes daily and presents many an opportunity to sample locally inspired Fijian recipes. Think freshly baked passionfruit topped muffins for breakfast and wonderfully light citrus and coconut cream meringues for dessert during lunch.

As day descends into night, evenings are enjoyed overlooking the pool and beach over cocktails and bar snacks with cultural Fijian torch lighting ceremonies. Local Fijian’s dress up as warriors, float on rafts across The Resort’s infinity pool and sing songs. Once evening begins, guests once again dine on sumptuous dinners over candlelight including Moorish BBQ chicken and pork cooked in traditional Fijian underground ovens.

Luckily there are golf carts to chaperone you back to your room. The food is that good! Alternatively you could always sweat it out at the well-equipped gym, early morning yoga session or Jet Ski to deserted island.

To further heighten your luxury stay, couples are urged to visit the world-class Lomana day spa and Wellness Centre. It is a tranquil sanctuary with thatched indoor and al fresco pavilions and boasts treatments that incorporate fresh local ingredients and ancient methods of massage.

Whilst Fiji has many resorts scattered across its islands, Nanuku is the frontrunner by successfully merging sophistication, personalised service and culture. Nanuku on departure is similar to saying goodbye to old friends. Guests on their last night are treated to a farewell cake and song from the staff. Never has a farewell to paradise been so bittersweet…. Unless Essential Groom renews their vows there just to get back there!

Nankuku is situated towards the Suva side of Fiji and can be accessed via private airplane (landing on Nanuku’s own airstrip), otherwise 1.5 to 2 hour car transfer from Nadi or Suva.

Prices per night start from $950 per night and includes: All meals (3 course breakfast/lunch/dinner), select non-alcoholic beverages including specialist coffees and espressos, complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary in villa movies, all non-motorised water sports, a villa mama and Nanuku buddy, bicycles, selected cultural activities, daily evening canapés at cocktail hour.
